AU Optronics Corporation is a world-leading electronics manufacturer specialising in display panels.  The company’s Display Solutions Segment is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, assembly and sale of flat panel displays, most of which are thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal displays (TFT-LCD) used in televisions, monitors, personal computers, mobile devices and other applications. Its Solar Solutions segment focuses on the research, production and sale of solar materials.

AU Optronics Corporation was formed in 2001 when Acer Display Technology Inc. and Unipac Optoelectronics Corporation merged. In 2016, it also merged with Quanta Display Inc. The company is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan and employs 43,000 across Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United States and Europe.
