
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Financials and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.91% or 2.03 points to trade at 53.91 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 1.70% or 0.61 points to end at 36.52 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.58% or 0.37 points to 23.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 1.78% or 0.38 points to trade at 21.01 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 1.62% or 2.10 points to end at 127.32 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.11% or 0.90 points to 80.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 3.91% to 53.91, Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which was up 3.79% to settle at 105.35 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 2.18% to close at 43.04.
The worst performers were Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which was down 1.82% to 10.24 in late trade, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which lost 1.78% to settle at 21.01 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 1.65% to 7.27 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 277 to 255 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.11% or 0.90 to 80.45.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 9.55 to $1,771.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.47% or 0.45 to hit $94.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.19 to trade at $101.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 108.51.
