
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.97% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index fell 0.69%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 1.43% or 0.74 points to trade at 52.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) added 1.23% or 2.90 points to end at 238.20 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 1.00% or 1.45 points to 146.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 4.29% or 1.07 points to trade at 23.86 at the close. Henkel&Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) declined 3.34% or 2.22 points to end at 64.24 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) was down 3.08% or 2.24 points to 70.48.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 2.09% to 6.63, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 1.97% to settle at 33.65 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 1.66% to close at 9.20.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 6.51% to 41.04 in late trade, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) which lost 3.80% to settle at 14.68 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.69% to 41.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 1.21% to 23.38, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 1.13% to settle at 15.17 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which gained 0.82% to close at 27.06.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 5.64% to 100.40 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 2.45% to settle at 21.94 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 2.35% to 24.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 442 to 226 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.29% or 1.07 to 23.86. Shares in Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.51% or 2.86 to 41.04.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.87% to 28.65.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 8.75 to $1,727.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.76% or 0.70 to hit $90.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.78 to trade at $97.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 108.59.
