Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.70%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.70% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 2.91%, and the TecDAX index added 1.85%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 5.25% or 1.06 points to trade at 21.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 4.48% or 1.00 points to end at 23.31 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 3.56% or 4.06 points to 118.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which fell 0.15% or 0.15 points to trade at 100.10 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 0.22% or 0.02 points to end at 8.63 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was up 0.28% or 0.70 points to 246.60.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 9.13% to 34.80, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 8.53% to settle at 6.74 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 6.88% to close at 2.02.

The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 0.49% to 28.40 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which gained 0.11% to settle at 36.54 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was up 0.63% to 19.18 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 6.67% to 23.35, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was up 6.19% to settle at 32.07 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 4.84% to close at 73.70.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 0.32% to 95.30 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 0.63% to settle at 19.18 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was up 0.76% to 17.26 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 527 to 162 and 67 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) rose to all time lows; gaining 4.48% or 1.00 to 23.31. Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) rose to all time lows; up 0.22% or 0.02 to 8.63. Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) rose to all time lows; rising 3.56% or 4.06 to 118.18. Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) rose to all time lows; rising 0.28% or 0.70 to 246.60. The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.58% to 29.21 a new all time low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.98% or 16.15 to $1,665.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.10% or 0.93 to hit $85.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.93 to trade at $92.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.29% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.15% at 111.90.
