Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.16%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.16% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index gained 0.93%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.64%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which rose 3.32% or 2.00 points to trade at 62.22 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 3.18% or 5.95 points to end at 193.30 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 2.78% or 0.66 points to 24.41 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 3.26% or 1.01 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) declined 2.34% or 2.52 points to end at 105.16 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was down 0.39% or 0.20 points to 51.44.

The top performers on the MDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 5.67% to 20.50, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 4.47% to settle at 41.60 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which gained 3.97% to close at 30.15.

The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 4.02% to 33.94 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which lost 2.32% to settle at 54.70 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.87% to 16.57 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 5.67% to 20.50, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was up 3.97% to settle at 30.15 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 3.63% to close at 60.00.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 2.59% to 113.00 in late trade, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which lost 2.34% to settle at 105.16 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.87% to 16.57 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 476 to 193 and 87 ended unchanged.

Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.87% or 0.32 to 16.57. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.63% or 2.10 to 60.00. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.87% or 0.32 to 16.57.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.80% to 22.03.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 9.20 to $1,753.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.43% or 2.80 to hit $78.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.25% or 2.92 to trade at $86.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 106.82.
