
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Consumer&Cyclical and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.15%, while the MDAX index lost 0.46%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 1.52% or 2.14 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.14% or 0.12 points to end at 10.16 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 1.10% or 1.95 points to 179.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 6.17% or 2.56 points to trade at 38.90 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 1.26% or 0.15 points to end at 11.45 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 0.97% or 1.10 points to 112.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 2.75% to 68.78, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 2.60% to settle at 132.10 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 2.53% to close at 7.50.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 9.41% to 43.70 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 7.08% to settle at 27.68 and Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which was down 3.66% to 34.72 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 6.04% to 105.40, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 2.60% to settle at 132.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.02% to close at 32.75.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 7.08% to 27.68 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 5.49% to settle at 72.30 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 4.56% to 16.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 372 to 306 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.02% or 0.65 to 32.75.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.09% to 19.12.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.31% or 5.70 to $1,839.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $78.10 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.25 to trade at $84.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 105.13.
