
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 5.48% or 4.98 points to trade at 95.84 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 1.72% or 0.80 points to end at 47.19 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 1.52% or 27.00 points to 1,801.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.42% or 1.69 points to trade at 47.79 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.59% or 5.70 points to end at 214.80 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was down 2.46% or 2.62 points to 104.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which rose 5.48% to 95.84, Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was up 3.68% to settle at 39.40 and SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which gained 3.04% to close at 108.40.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 9.45% to 6.71 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 8.77% to settle at 14.14 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was down 5.40% to 5.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 290 to 247 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.72% or 0.80 to 47.19. Shares in Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) rose to all time highs; rising 1.52% or 27.00 to 1,801.00. Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; down 9.45% or 0.70 to 6.71. Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.77% or 1.36 to 14.14.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.70% or 52.60 to $2,002.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.14% or 0.81 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.69 to trade at $76.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 102.00.
