Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.50%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Food&Beverages and Consumer&Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.50% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index gained 0.82%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 5.65% or 0.55 points to trade at 10.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 4.57% or 0.44 points to end at 9.95 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 3.32% or 2.20 points to 68.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which fell 1.50% or 2.75 points to trade at 180.70 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 1.29% or 3.00 points to end at 228.90 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was down 1.26% or 0.68 points to 53.50.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 6.45% to 1.36, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 4.85% to settle at 7.61 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which gained 3.74% to close at 42.41.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 2.56% to 9.51 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 1.85% to settle at 19.13 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 1.73% to 24.47 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 7.76% to 100.00, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.08% to settle at 36.16 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 2.08% to close at 103.10.

The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was down 5.22% to 19.26 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 2.56% to settle at 9.51 and Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 1.91% to 43.22 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 419 to 240 and 92 ended unchanged.

Shares in ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) fell to all time lows; falling 2.56% or 0.25 to 9.51. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; rising 3.08% or 1.08 to 36.16. Shares in ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) fell to all time lows; losing 2.56% or 0.25 to 9.51. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.08% or 2.10 to 103.10.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.75% to 16.63 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.90% or 39.00 to $2,016.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.74% or 0.61 to hit $82.77 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.41 to trade at $86.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 101.33.
