
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.52% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 3.63% or 0.79 points to trade at 22.40 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 3.22% or 1.85 points to end at 59.39 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 2.30% or 0.25 points to 10.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 3.01% or 0.68 points to trade at 21.92 at the close. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 1.20% or 0.35 points to end at 28.71 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 0.93% or 2.00 points to 212.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 11.53% to 2.70, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 5.10% to settle at 21.24 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which gained 4.06% to close at 6.66.
The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 3.25% to 0.73 in late trade, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which lost 3.01% to settle at 21.92 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 2.87% to 19.77 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 280 to 247 and 98 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.05% or 42.05 to $2,013.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.67% or 0.55 to hit $82.71 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.35 to trade at $86.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.68% at 101.39.
