
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Insurance and Software sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.05%, while the MDAX index lost 0.28%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 1.50% or 0.15 points to trade at 9.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 1.41% or 2.65 points to end at 189.95 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 1.28% or 1.38 points to 108.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which fell 2.51% or 4.15 points to trade at 161.35 at the close. Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) declined 2.31% or 7.80 points to end at 330.30 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 1.52% or 1.75 points to 113.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which rose 5.02% to 45.62, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 3.01% to settle at 15.22 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which gained 2.86% to close at 7.98.
The worst performers were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 8.52% to 644.00 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.97% to settle at 16.32 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which was down 3.46% to 57.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 3.01% to 15.22, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was up 2.36% to settle at 29.52 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which gained 1.68% to close at 16.38.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.97% to 16.32 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 2.73% to settle at 33.82 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.64% to 62.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 352 to 314 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.28% or 1.38 to 108.92.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.32% to 18.57.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.47% or 9.55 to $2,034.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.44% or 1.74 to hit $73.08 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.15% or 1.62 to trade at $76.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.97.
