
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Construction and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.24%, while the MDAX index declined 0.52%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which rose 2.60% or 5.40 points to trade at 212.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 1.17% or 4.20 points to end at 362.20 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 1.12% or 0.82 points to 74.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 4.71% or 1.88 points to trade at 38.06 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 3.34% or 0.45 points to end at 13.03 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 1.61% or 1.65 points to 101.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 4.97% to 28.30, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was up 1.93% to settle at 22.18 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 1.88% to close at 108.55.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 10.33% to 32.06 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.14% to settle at 11.26 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.07% to 29.66 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which rose 3.57% to 26.10, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 2.40% to settle at 7.61 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 1.97% to close at 17.64.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.14% to 11.26 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.07% to settle at 29.66 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.53% to 20.04 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 346 to 294 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.97% or 1.34 to 28.30.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.93% to 14.98 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 8.25 to $1,973.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.20% or 0.16 to hit $81.32 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $84.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.03.
