Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.36%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Food&Beverages and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.36%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.61%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.18%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 4.21% or 0.93 points to trade at 23.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 3.88% or 2.00 points to end at 53.50 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 2.94% or 7.20 points to 251.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 12.10% or 25.15 points to trade at 182.75 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 3.21% or 11.20 points to end at 337.80 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 1.96% or 2.58 points to 128.90.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which rose 3.97% to 11.40, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 3.17% to settle at 69.62 and Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which gained 2.95% to close at 75.05.

The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 2.43% to 29.66 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which lost 2.25% to settle at 56.50 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 1.36% to 650.50 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 3.56% to 66.90, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.74% to settle at 30.00 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.68% to close at 10.73.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.21% to 337.80 in late trade, Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 2.85% to settle at 30.04 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 1.96% to 128.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 408 to 229 and 102 ended unchanged.

Shares in Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.88% or 2.00 to 53.50. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.97% or 0.44 to 11.40. Shares in Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.85% or 0.88 to 30.04.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.33% to 15.00.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 4.25 to $1,946.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $87.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.13 to trade at $90.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 104.17.
