
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.64% to hit a new 6-months low, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 4.76% or 7.55 points to trade at 166.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 1.34% or 0.17 points to end at 12.46 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 1.05% or 0.15 points to 14.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 7.33% or 2.65 points to trade at 33.42 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 3.60% or 0.68 points to end at 18.10 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was down 2.88% or 1.56 points to 52.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which rose 4.76% to 166.15, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 4.56% to settle at 195.00 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 3.34% to close at 119.20.
The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 13.76% to 19.50 in late trade, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which lost 7.33% to settle at 33.42 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 4.55% to 4.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 362 to 153 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.55% or 0.22 to 4.68.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 6.15 to $1,974.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.70% or 0.61 to hit $87.88 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.36 to trade at $91.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 105.91.
