
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Financial Services and Consumer&Cyclical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.76% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 3.29%, and the TecDAX index climbed 2.52%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 10.01% or 2.12 points to trade at 23.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 8.03% or 19.80 points to end at 266.50 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 8.00% or 1.86 points to 25.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 1.35% or 3.80 points to trade at 278.70 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) declined 1.23% or 0.14 points to end at 10.84 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) was down 0.44% or 0.10 points to 21.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which rose 11.12% to 5.45, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 9.93% to settle at 29.57 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 8.56% to close at 31.70.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.03% to 26.64 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 1.49% to settle at 10.90 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 0.99% to 60.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 8.03% to 266.50, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 7.04% to settle at 86.98 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 6.27% to close at 18.72.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.03% to 26.64 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 1.49% to settle at 10.90 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.44% to 21.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 456 to 172 and 24 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.77% to 14.39 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 18.45 to $1,968.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.84% or 0.66 to hit $78.92 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.71 to trade at $83.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.55% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.33% at 104.10.
