
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil&Gas, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.74% to hit a new 3-months high, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 2.21% or 1.29 points to trade at 59.76 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 2.08% or 14.50 points to end at 713.20 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.79% or 1.10 points to 62.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 1.93% or 0.22 points to trade at 11.21 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 0.79% or 0.28 points to end at 35.91 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was down 0.48% or 0.78 points to 160.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which rose 5.15% to 6.64, Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was up 4.19% to settle at 52.20 and SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which gained 3.36% to close at 104.60.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was unchanged 9.21% to 0.01 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 4.18% to settle at 9.16 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 2.95% to 5.27 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 270 to 254 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.93% or 0.22 to 11.21. Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 9.21% or 0.00 to 0.01.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.44% or 9.05 to $2,033.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.03% or 0.75 to hit $73.79 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.59 to trade at $78.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.95.
