
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.33% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 2.57% or 2.04 points to trade at 81.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.94% or 1.67 points to end at 87.80 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 1.54% or 0.24 points to 15.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 2.95% or 0.35 points to trade at 11.35 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.38% or 2.20 points to end at 157.05 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 1.12% or 1.55 points to 137.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 6.96% to 6.37, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which was up 2.57% to settle at 81.30 and Rexel (EPA:RXL) which gained 2.14% to close at 24.37.
The worst performers were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was down 29.14% to 20.62 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 6.06% to settle at 8.37 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) which was down 3.30% to 11.73 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 274 to 255 and 103 ended unchanged.
Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; up 2.57% or 2.04 to 81.30. Shares in Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) fell to 5-year lows; losing 29.14% or 8.48 to 20.62. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.57% or 2.04 to 81.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.82% or 16.45 to $1,998.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.21% or 0.15 to hit $71.08 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $75.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 103.79.
