
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the IT, Technology and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 1.29% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT), which rose 5.42% or 76.70 points to trade at 1,491.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) added 5.28% or 193.75 points to end at 3,861.00 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was up 5.13% or 76.95 points to 1,578.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle India Ltd (NS:NEST), which fell 1.72% or 426.90 points to trade at 24,366.40 at the close. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL) declined 1.67% or 11.45 points to end at 673.10 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was down 1.26% or 12.65 points to 992.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which rose 5.58% to 1,492.40, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was up 5.28% to settle at 3,860.05 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which gained 5.20% to close at 1,579.25.
The worst performers were Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was down 1.75% to 24,358.30 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.30% to settle at 993.00 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was down 0.65% to 10,289.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1073 to 1016 and 56 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1856 rose and 1784 declined, while 114 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.28% or 193.45 to 3,860.05.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 6.55% to 13.13.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.66% or 13.55 to $2,058.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.66% or 0.47 to hit $72.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.44 to trade at $77.05 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.33% to 83.03, while EUR/INR fell 0.56% to 91.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.63.
