
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.27%, while the MDAX index fell 0.49%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 1.33% or 0.14 points to trade at 10.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) added 0.66% or 0.54 points to end at 82.42 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was up 0.64% or 0.88 points to 138.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.40% or 8.30 points to trade at 338.00 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 1.33% or 0.63 points to end at 46.68 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 1.16% or 1.62 points to 137.58.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 4.64% to 87.95, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.46% to settle at 58.30 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 1.69% to close at 96.45.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 10.03% to 25.91 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which lost 4.40% to settle at 76.06 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 3.22% to 2.37 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 4.64% to 87.95, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.46% to settle at 58.30 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which gained 1.92% to close at 79.50.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 8.01% to 30.79 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 2.66% to settle at 6.37 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.40% to 338.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 407 to 233 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.66% or 0.54 to 82.42.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.09% to 13.41.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.28% or 5.75 to $2,053.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.40% or 1.04 to hit $73.18 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 1.07 to trade at $78.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 101.59.
