
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Construction&Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.97% or 5.20 points to trade at 136.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 0.82% or 1.10 points to end at 134.95 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 0.77% or 1.22 points to 159.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 1.28% or 0.50 points to trade at 38.07 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 1.28% or 0.88 points to end at 67.76 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 1.18% or 4.80 points to 401.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 3.97% to 136.05, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which was up 3.35% to settle at 12.34 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which gained 2.98% to close at 5.88.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 5.29% to 4.55 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 2.63% to settle at 0.01 and Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was down 2.32% to 16.43 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 197 and 111 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 5.40 to $2,053.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.47% or 1.09 to hit $73.13 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.39% or 1.11 to trade at $78.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 101.59.
