Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.95%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.95%, while the MDAX index gained 0.87%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.24%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 3.63% or 5.22 points to trade at 149.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 3.62% or 0.44 points to end at 12.45 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 2.66% or 0.72 points to 27.74 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which fell 2.56% or 1.18 points to trade at 44.97 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 2.38% or 1.84 points to end at 75.50 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was down 1.64% or 1.61 points to 96.85.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 5.22% to 27.02, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 5.06% to settle at 2.28 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 4.06% to close at 45.33.

The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 3.23% to 13.17 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 3.19% to settle at 6.12 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 1.98% to 7.52 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 5.22% to 27.02, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 4.99% to settle at 221.00 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 4.06% to close at 45.33.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.41% to 52.60 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 1.32% to settle at 22.46 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 0.84% to 10.05 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 391 to 224 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) rose to all time highs; up 3.63% or 5.22 to 149.12. Shares in Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) fell to all time lows; falling 2.38% or 1.84 to 75.50. Shares in K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.23% or 0.44 to 13.17. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.19% or 0.20 to 6.12.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.72% to 13.24.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.57% or 31.75 to $2,050.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.01% or 0.73 to hit $72.75 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.87 to trade at $78.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 102.17.
