Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.77%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Technology and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.77%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.24%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.12%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 3.88% or 0.64 points to trade at 16.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 1.65% or 3.70 points to end at 228.60 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 1.59% or 1.32 points to 84.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 3.39% or 0.38 points to trade at 10.69 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 2.05% or 0.77 points to end at 36.72 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 1.60% or 1.18 points to 72.60.

The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.80% to 15.28, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 6.88% to settle at 86.08 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 3.88% to close at 24.08.

The worst performers were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 3.98% to 63.70 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 1.64% to settle at 98.56 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 1.38% to 11.41 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.80% to 15.28, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 6.88% to settle at 86.08 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 5.38% to close at 20.09.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.64% to 98.56 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 1.15% to settle at 51.38 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.15% to 8.98 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 233 and 25 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) fell to all time lows; down 1.60% or 1.18 to 72.60. Shares in Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.98% or 2.64 to 63.70. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.88% or 5.54 to 86.08. Shares in United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.88% or 0.90 to 24.08. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.38% or 0.16 to 11.41. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.88% or 5.54 to 86.08. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.15% or 0.10 to 8.98.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.93% to 13.56.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.25% or 5.00 to $2,024.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.13% or 1.56 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 1.40 to trade at $79.96 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 103.04.
