
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil&Gas, Consumer Services and Aerospace&Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.34%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 3.84% or 0.44 points to trade at 11.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 3.42% or 4.95 points to end at 149.55 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 1.90% or 0.79 points to 42.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 3.55% or 2.08 points to trade at 56.54 at the close. Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) declined 2.09% or 0.33 points to end at 15.30 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was down 1.86% or 3.20 points to 168.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which rose 7.66% to 8.08, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was up 4.80% to settle at 12.00 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which gained 3.84% to close at 11.91.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.61% to 3.64 in late trade, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which lost 3.55% to settle at 56.54 and Coface (EPA:COFA) which was down 2.72% to 12.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 258 to 241 and 104 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.21% or 4.15 to $2,026.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $74.78 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.16 to trade at $79.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 103.57.
