
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer&Cyclical, Chemicals and Food&Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.10% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index lost 0.25%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 5.74% or 9.54 points to trade at 175.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 2.76% or 2.56 points to end at 95.26 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 2.68% or 1.17 points to 44.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 2.27% or 0.25 points to trade at 10.55 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 1.81% or 1.36 points to end at 73.98 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 1.72% or 3.90 points to 223.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which rose 2.79% to 54.50, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 2.52% to settle at 2.08 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 2.27% to close at 135.05.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 4.29% to 47.76 in late trade, Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which lost 3.82% to settle at 80.60 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.77% to 14.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 2.86% to 35.93, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 2.58% to settle at 6.53 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 1.62% to close at 30.16.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 4.29% to 47.76 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.77% to settle at 14.44 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.23% to 27.18 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 326 to 304 and 32 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.38% to 13.10.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.15% or 2.95 to $2,013.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.02% or 1.52 to hit $76.61 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.57 to trade at $81.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 103.39.
