Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.08%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer&Cyclical and Food&Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Media and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.08%, while the MDAX index lost 0.25%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.70%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which rose 3.96% or 5.35 points to trade at 140.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 3.12% or 1.05 points to end at 34.65 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 2.17% or 4.80 points to 226.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which fell 2.74% or 0.35 points to trade at 12.47 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 2.50% or 1.90 points to end at 74.06 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was down 1.80% or 1.16 points to 63.18.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.53% to 17.40, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 4.09% to settle at 138.60 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which gained 3.13% to close at 39.54.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 5.35% to 5.45 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 2.90% to settle at 41.80 and GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which was down 2.61% to 36.13 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 35.10% to 56.96, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 3.12% to settle at 34.65 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.63% to close at 28.60.

The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 3.82% to 19.39 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 2.59% to settle at 86.55 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 2.55% to 72.50 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 367 to 250 and 34 ended unchanged.

Shares in Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) rose to all time highs; up 3.96% or 5.35 to 140.45. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.35% or 0.31 to 5.45. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 35.10% or 14.80 to 56.96.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.15% to 13.79.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.70% or 14.35 to $2,039.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.30% or 0.22 to hit $72.50 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.31 to trade at $77.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 104.38.
