
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.34% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP), which rose 8.26% or 14.18 points to trade at 185.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 2.59% or 0.75 points to end at 29.75 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 2.45% or 0.38 points to 15.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 4.21% or 1.61 points to trade at 36.48 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 1.95% or 0.82 points to end at 40.95 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was down 1.83% or 1.09 points to 58.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were BIC (EPA:BICP) which rose 8.72% to 67.95, Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) which was up 8.26% to settle at 185.86 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) which gained 2.59% to close at 29.75.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 12.24% to 1.47 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 9.86% to settle at 3.28 and Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 9.65% to 12.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 335 to 187 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.26% or 14.18 to 185.86. Shares in BIC (EPA:BICP) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.72% or 5.45 to 67.95. Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) fell to all time lows; down 12.24% or 0.21 to 1.47. Shares in Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) rose to all time highs; up 8.26% or 14.18 to 185.86. Shares in Valneva (EPA:VLS) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.86% or 0.36 to 3.28. Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.65% or 1.36 to 12.68.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.71% or 14.45 to $2,038.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.66% or 1.30 to hit $77.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 1.21 to trade at $82.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 103.90.
