
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas&Water, General Financial and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.23%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 8.00% or 2.72 points to trade at 36.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 5.62% or 0.65 points to end at 12.21 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 4.05% or 1.68 points to 43.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 6.65% or 3.90 points to trade at 54.74 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 4.99% or 2.47 points to end at 47.05 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 2.14% or 4.50 points to 205.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which rose 8.89% to 138.40, Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) which was up 8.00% to settle at 36.70 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 7.74% to close at 1.81.
The worst performers were SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which was down 7.62% to 105.40 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which lost 6.65% to settle at 54.74 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which was down 4.99% to 47.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 272 to 251 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) rose to 3-years highs; rising 8.00% or 2.72 to 36.70. Shares in Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.99% or 2.47 to 47.05. Shares in Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.89% or 11.30 to 138.40. Shares in Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) rose to 3-years highs; rising 8.00% or 2.72 to 36.70. Shares in Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.99% or 2.47 to 47.05.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.13% or 2.75 to $2,041.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $78.34 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.54 to trade at $82.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 103.69.
