France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.34%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.34%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.00%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 1.69% or 0.92 points to trade at 55.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) added 1.52% or 1.40 points to end at 93.50 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 1.18% or 0.12 points to 10.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE), which fell 3.54% or 1.05 points to trade at 28.65 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.40% or 2.20 points to end at 154.55 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 1.17% or 0.70 points to 59.02.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 15.18% to 0.01, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 11.96% to settle at 1.99 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 4.70% to close at 23.16.

The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 43.33% to 3.85 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 20.17% to settle at 10.61 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 8.62% to 10.43 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 207 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; falling 43.33% or 2.94 to 3.85. Shares in Nexity (EPA:NEXI) fell to 5-year lows; down 20.17% or 2.68 to 10.61. Shares in Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) fell to all time lows; losing 8.62% or 0.98 to 10.43.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.54% or 11.05 to $2,053.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.93% or 0.73 to hit $79.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.66 to trade at $82.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.04.
