Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.11%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.11%, while the MDAX index declined 0.20%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.40%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 5.29% or 22.30 points to trade at 443.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 3.17% or 6.35 points to end at 206.50 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.71% or 0.38 points to 14.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 3.53% or 1.12 points to trade at 30.62 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) declined 3.04% or 3.30 points to end at 105.20 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 2.90% or 0.66 points to 22.11.

The top performers on the MDAX were Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which rose 25.20% to 16.84, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 9.25% to settle at 139.40 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which gained 2.20% to close at 107.00.

The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was down 7.44% to 30.84 in late trade, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which lost 6.50% to settle at 24.44 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 5.71% to 13.54 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which rose 3.07% to 14.12, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was up 1.81% to settle at 67.50 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.56% to close at 16.88.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 5.71% to 13.54 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 4.34% to settle at 16.53 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 2.68% to 33.96 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 380 to 230 and 22 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 5.29% or 22.30 to 443.60. Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.17% or 6.35 to 206.50. Shares in RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) fell to 3-years lows; down 7.44% or 2.48 to 30.84. Shares in Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.34% or 0.75 to 16.53.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.82% to 12.86.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.79% or 17.15 to $2,163.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.37% or 1.89 to hit $81.61 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.94% or 1.63 to trade at $85.66 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 102.94.
