
Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (TYO:5801), which rose 18.64% or 643.00 points to trade at 4,092.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Obayashi Corp. (TYO:1802) added 13.39% or 224.50 points to end at 1,901.00 and Eneos Holdings Inc (TYO:5020) was up 10.76% or 76.80 points to 790.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kajima Corp. (TYO:1812), which fell 8.89% or 265.00 points to trade at 2,715.00 at the close. Tosoh Corp. (TYO:4042) declined 8.61% or 186.50 points to end at 1,980.50 and Daiwa Securities Group Inc. (TYO:8601) was down 6.82% or 79.50 points to 1,086.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1871 to 1795 and 213 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 3.54% to 19.88.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.13% or 0.10 to $79.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.13% or 0.11 to hit $83.47 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 2.90 to trade at $2,345.90 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.20% to 156.51, while EUR/JPY rose 0.12% to 168.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 105.18.
