Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.85%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.85% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.83%, and the TecDAX index added 1.15%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 6.74% or 1.89 points to trade at 29.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 6.46% or 1.56 points to end at 25.70 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 5.13% or 0.74 points to 15.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which fell 1.70% or 1.46 points to trade at 84.32 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 1.36% or 0.57 points to end at 41.20 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was down 1.19% or 6.20 points to 515.40.

The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 6.31% to 86.32, Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was up 5.05% to settle at 48.85 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 4.82% to close at 23.70.

The worst performers were KS AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 4.84% to 13.57 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 4.55% to settle at 5.62 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.78% to 31.10 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.82% to 23.70, Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 4.74% to settle at 46.36 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 3.51% to close at 51.60.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.32% to 49.44 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 0.93% to settle at 14.98 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 0.57% to 95.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 369 to 239 and 46 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.74% or 1.89 to 29.94. Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.46% or 1.56 to 25.70. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 5.13% or 0.74 to 15.06. Shares in LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.31% or 5.12 to 86.32. Shares in Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 5.05% or 2.35 to 48.85. Shares in Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) rose to all time highs; rising 3.51% or 1.75 to 51.60.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.64.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.01% or 23.85 to $2,383.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.46% or 0.36 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.30 to trade at $82.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 104.40.
