
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Software, Construction and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.22%, while the MDAX index gained 0.84%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 4.20% or 1.13 points to trade at 28.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 2.03% or 1.49 points to end at 75.06 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.01% or 0.31 points to 15.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 5.22% or 6.30 points to trade at 114.50 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) declined 4.12% or 7.24 points to end at 168.58 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was down 2.28% or 3.85 points to 164.65.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 3.91% to 5.57, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 3.25% to settle at 2.13 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which gained 2.83% to close at 52.65.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.80% to 85.20 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 2.48% to settle at 43.28 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 1.89% to 57.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which rose 2.64% to 21.78, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 2.59% to settle at 14.63 and Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 2.18% to close at 45.06.
The worst performers were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 4.12% to 168.58 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 2.80% to settle at 85.20 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.12% to 8.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 383 to 212 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.12% or 0.10 to 8.40.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.25% to 13.81.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,363.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.24% or 0.98 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.92 to trade at $82.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 104.64.
