Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.89%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Retail and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.89%, while the MDAX index lost 0.03%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 2.17% or 0.71 points to trade at 33.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) added 1.33% or 0.55 points to end at 41.50 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 1.30% or 0.32 points to 24.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which fell 11.15% or 8.66 points to trade at 68.98 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 10.51% or 6.18 points to end at 52.60 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was down 4.91% or 0.74 points to 14.29.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 14.30% to 2.79, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was up 4.51% to settle at 37.56 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 3.49% to close at 16.31.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 4.82% to 26.65 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 4.41% to settle at 2.78 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 2.62% to 35.35 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 1.94% to 52.60, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was up 1.33% to settle at 41.50 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.20% to close at 30.30.

The worst performers were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 4.23% to 10.88 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which lost 2.45% to settle at 28.52 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.18% to 69.45 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 355 to 283 and 34 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.17% or 0.71 to 33.49. Shares in Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 11.15% or 8.66 to 68.98. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) rose to 52-week highs; rising 14.30% or 0.35 to 2.79. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to all time lows; down 4.41% or 0.13 to 2.78. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.49% or 0.55 to 16.31. Shares in Stabilus (ETR:STM1) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.62% or 0.95 to 35.35. Shares in PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.23% or 0.48 to 10.88.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.56% to 17.75.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 7.90 to $2,540.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.34% or 2.98 to hit $65.73 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.77% or 2.71 to trade at $69.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
