The Christmas adverts have started and mince pies are displayed prominently in every Supermarket. So what happens in the market from now until the New Year?
We can look at it from 2 perspectives. The investor sitting on a stock portfolio worth say $5000 , does he liquidate his position in order to finance his Christmas festivities, the family get the presents they want and they indulge a little after the torrid financial year or do they sit on their stock portfolio and ramp on the credit cards and borrow more money from the bank? I suggest that more people than not will dump their stock portfolios or a portion of them in time for the festive break.
This can provide some great opportunity from both sides of the trading spectrum , good downside speculation with buying opportunity going into the New Year.
Let's see what Santa brings.
