Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the IT, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.23% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were AUB Group Ltd (ASX:AUB), which rose 6.00% or 1.52 points to trade at 26.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) added 5.23% or 0.37 points to end at 7.44 and Wisetech Global Ltd (ASX:WTC) was up 5.18% or 3.93 points to 79.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nickel Mines Ltd (ASX:NIC), which fell 7.65% or 0.08 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Domino'S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) declined 5.86% or 2.71 points to end at 43.55 and Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL) was down 5.75% or 0.05 points to 0.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 730 to 627 and 457 ended unchanged.
Shares in AUB Group Ltd (ASX:AUB) rose to all time lows; gaining 6.00% or 1.52 to 26.85. Shares in Nickel Mines Ltd (ASX:NIC) fell to all time lows; falling 7.65% or 0.08 to 0.90. Shares in Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) rose to all time lows; gaining 5.23% or 0.37 to 7.44. Shares in Domino'S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) fell to all time lows; down 5.86% or 2.71 to 43.55. Shares in Wisetech Global Ltd (ASX:WTC) rose to all time lows; up 5.18% or 3.93 to 79.81. Shares in Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL) fell to all time lows; falling 5.75% or 0.05 to 0.82.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 1.28% to 11.78 a new all time low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.35% or 6.90 to $1,976.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.89% or 0.60 to hit $67.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.85 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.50% to 0.68, while AUD/JPY rose 0.48% to 94.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 102.84.
