Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.09% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 1.43% or 1.02 points to trade at 72.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) added 1.42% or 0.13 points to end at 9.45 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 1.18% or 0.44 points to 38.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 1.74% or 0.81 points to trade at 45.63 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 1.38% or 0.52 points to end at 37.10 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.28% or 0.80 points to 61.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which rose 2.80% to 22.75, Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which was up 2.65% to settle at 11.23 and Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which gained 2.44% to close at 54.50.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 5.65% to 1.50 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 2.14% to settle at 10.95 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) which was down 1.74% to 45.63 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 290 to 260 and 87 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.18% or 3.55 to $2,022.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.28% or 1.86 to hit $83.39 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.08% or 1.78 to trade at $87.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 101.17.
