
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 3.61% or 3.20 points to trade at 91.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 1.19% or 1.74 points to end at 148.48 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was up 1.18% or 0.66 points to 56.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 6.17% or 9.45 points to trade at 143.75 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 1.71% or 0.60 points to end at 34.21 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 1.03% or 3.75 points to 361.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which rose 6.64% to 135.00, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 6.23% to settle at 4.32 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 5.08% to close at 25.66.
The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 6.17% to 143.75 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 4.48% to settle at 15.57 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.21% to 3.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 250 to 242 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.61% or 3.20 to 91.96. Shares in Valneva (EPA:VLS) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.21% or 0.16 to 3.74.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 2.35 to $2,013.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.00% or 1.50 to hit $76.59 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.92% or 1.54 to trade at $81.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 103.38.
