
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.14% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 1.77% or 0.88 points to trade at 50.43 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 1.76% or 1.05 points to end at 60.82 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 1.54% or 0.36 points to 23.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 4.30% or 1.09 points to trade at 24.24 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.98% or 2.45 points to end at 121.00 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.61% or 0.40 points to 24.43.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which rose 3.06% to 6.39, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 2.68% to settle at 3.30 and Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which gained 2.14% to close at 17.18.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 4.30% to 24.24 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which lost 3.75% to settle at 14.50 and Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which was down 3.50% to 102.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 318 to 214 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.14% or 0.36 to 17.18.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.33% or 6.05 to $1,813.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.15% or 2.03 to hit $92.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 1.52 to trade at $98.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 105.60.
