
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.15% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 1.89% or 0.91 points to trade at 49.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 1.45% or 5.95 points to end at 417.40 and AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) was up 1.27% or 0.42 points to 33.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which fell 2.29% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.02 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 2.13% or 0.95 points to end at 43.46 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 1.82% or 2.65 points to 143.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which rose 7.20% to 27.10, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was up 6.64% to settle at 3.34 and Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which gained 6.28% to close at 44.70.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 9.53% to 6.36 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 6.13% to settle at 3.40 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was down 5.14% to 136.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 243 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.27% or 0.42 to 33.52. Shares in Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) rose to 52-week highs; up 7.20% or 1.82 to 27.10. Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 9.53% or 0.67 to 6.36. Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; falling 6.13% or 0.22 to 3.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.37% or 29.75 to $2,194.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.10% or 0.87 to hit $78.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.96% or 0.80 to trade at $82.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.64.
