
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.34% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which rose 2.44% or 0.73 points to trade at 30.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 2.06% or 0.82 points to end at 40.65 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 1.89% or 0.51 points to 27.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 1.55% or 0.67 points to trade at 42.45 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.46% or 0.44 points to end at 29.96 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.05% or 0.66 points to 62.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 7.55% to 15.11, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 6.21% to settle at 3.73 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 4.24% to close at 21.64.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 5.27% to 107.80 in late trade, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which lost 2.43% to settle at 281.00 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was down 2.12% to 106.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 255 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.24% or 0.88 to 21.64.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.06% or 1.15 to $1,855.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.48 to hit $80.16 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.08 to trade at $85.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 104.21.
