
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.42% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.67% or 1.89 points to trade at 53.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 3.15% or 1.04 points to end at 34.26 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 2.69% or 1.21 points to 46.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which fell 0.44% or 0.50 points to trade at 113.26 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 0.23% or 0.40 points to end at 174.75 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 0.22% or 0.11 points to 50.47.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 10.01% to 2.84, Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was up 8.37% to settle at 5.25 and Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which gained 5.30% to close at 248.50.
The worst performers were Rexel (EPA:RXL) which was down 0.96% to 18.52 in late trade, Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI) which lost 0.93% to settle at 25.68 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 0.81% to 159.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 196 and 93 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 10.00 to $1,755.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.32% or 0.25 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $85.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 105.75.
