
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.21% or 0.38 points to trade at 17.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 1.94% or 0.46 points to end at 24.17 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 1.85% or 1.08 points to 59.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD), which fell 2.89% or 2.62 points to trade at 88.14 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 1.31% or 1.78 points to end at 133.66 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 0.73% or 0.30 points to 41.08.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which rose 5.81% to 17.11, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 5.32% to settle at 2.22 and Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which gained 3.74% to close at 22.72.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 4.55% to 7.17 in late trade, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which lost 3.30% to settle at 12.29 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which was down 2.89% to 88.14 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 239 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 4.05 to $1,946.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.11% or 0.10 to hit $87.61 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.18 to trade at $90.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 104.13.
