Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.63%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 2.05% or 3.50 points to trade at 174.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 1.91% or 2.25 points to end at 120.25 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.76% or 0.30 points to 17.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which fell 1.98% or 0.57 points to trade at 28.29 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 1.56% or 0.55 points to end at 34.29 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 0.78% or 0.50 points to 63.84.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which rose 4.43% to 38.68, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was up 3.46% to settle at 164.50 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which gained 3.27% to close at 11.67.
The worst performers were Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was down 3.09% to 59.50 in late trade, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which lost 2.94% to settle at 17.00 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 2.90% to 143.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 241 and 87 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.21% or 3.95 to $1,927.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.34% or 1.08 to hit $81.69 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.29 to trade at $87.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.89.
