Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.74% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.04% or 2.20 points to trade at 56.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 3.99% or 9.30 points to end at 242.50 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 3.30% or 5.40 points to 168.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 1.56% or 2.70 points to trade at 170.45 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 0.87% or 0.08 points to end at 9.56 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 0.84% or 0.42 points to 49.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 6.81% to 13.10, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was up 4.04% to settle at 56.70 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which gained 3.99% to close at 242.50.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 17.55% to 7.13 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 14.03% to settle at 20.52 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was down 2.59% to 6.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 245 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 14.03% or 3.35 to 20.52.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.18% or 22.25 to $1,901.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.80% or 1.39 to hit $78.80 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.01% or 1.66 to trade at $84.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.87% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 101.98.
