
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.77% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 3.50% or 1.50 points to trade at 44.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 2.45% or 1.68 points to end at 70.32 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 2.16% or 4.80 points to 226.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 23.13% or 25.87 points to trade at 85.98 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 1.06% or 2.10 points to end at 196.62 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 1.05% or 0.17 points to 15.57.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 6.53% to 3.91, Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which was up 6.36% to settle at 32.76 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 4.53% to close at 3.62.
The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 23.13% to 85.98 in late trade, JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which lost 9.14% to settle at 17.70 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 3.32% to 28.57 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 217 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; falling 23.13% or 25.87 to 85.98. Shares in Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.16% or 4.80 to 226.80. Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; losing 23.13% or 25.87 to 85.98. Shares in Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) rose to all time highs; up 6.36% or 1.96 to 32.76.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.27% or 5.85 to $2,164.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.14% or 0.11 to hit $79.02 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $83.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 102.88.
