
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.80% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 3.64% or 19.10 points to trade at 543.40 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 3.06% or 1.62 points to end at 54.50 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 2.42% or 0.23 points to 9.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 4.83% or 3.22 points to trade at 63.40 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.82% or 2.10 points to end at 113.50 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 1.23% or 2.90 points to 233.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 14.30% to 8.65, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 6.83% to settle at 314.30 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 6.19% to close at 12.27.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 4.83% to 63.40 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 4.21% to settle at 32.30 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 3.50% to 0.67 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 330 to 222 and 86 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.07% or 1.30 to $1,877.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.02% or 2.27 to hit $77.39 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.96% or 2.37 to trade at $82.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 103.07.
