
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.84% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 2.92% or 0.81 points to trade at 28.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 2.77% or 0.95 points to end at 35.27 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 1.98% or 2.55 points to 131.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 6.50% or 6.85 points to trade at 98.50 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 1.60% or 0.84 points to end at 51.68 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was down 1.33% or 0.96 points to 71.44.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 7.85% to 40.39, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 6.28% to settle at 14.30 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which gained 5.81% to close at 112.90.
The worst performers were ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which was down 7.13% to 417.00 in late trade, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which lost 6.50% to settle at 98.50 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 3.00% to 1.88 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 267 to 204 and 116 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 17.20 to $2,555.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 1.40 to hit $75.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 1.07 to trade at $78.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.28.
