
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.07%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 4.19% or 2.06 points to trade at 51.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 4.00% or 2.17 points to end at 56.45 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 3.37% or 4.85 points to 148.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which fell 0.45% or 0.62 points to trade at 136.22 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 0.11% or 0.06 points to end at 55.02 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 26.33.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which rose 7.99% to 129.80, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 5.33% to settle at 2.65 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) which gained 4.19% to close at 51.24.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 2.13% to 1.86 in late trade, Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which lost 1.63% to settle at 12.70 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 1.51% to 1.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 303 to 204 and 107 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.35% or 6.75 to $1,937.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.33% or 1.70 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.00% or 1.55 to trade at $79.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.46% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.39.
