Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.13% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 5.65% or 47.30 points to trade at 883.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 3.07% or 58.00 points to end at 1,945.40 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 2.90% or 11.95 points to 424.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 5.40% or 1.29 points to trade at 22.60 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 1.58% or 0.30 points to end at 18.64 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 1.32% or 2.25 points to 168.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 11.11% to 2.42, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which was up 5.65% to settle at 883.90 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 4.11% to close at 11.40.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 5.40% to 22.60 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 3.90% to settle at 37.48 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which was down 1.98% to 42.58 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 282 to 255 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) rose to all time highs; up 3.07% or 58.00 to 1,945.40. Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.90% or 11.95 to 424.10. Shares in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) rose to all time highs; rising 5.65% or 47.30 to 883.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.46% or 29.55 to $2,054.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.97% or 0.81 to hit $82.45 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.91 to trade at $86.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 100.61.
