
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Gas&Water, General Financial and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.24%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 3.84% or 1.51 points to trade at 40.68 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 2.44% or 20.10 points to end at 843.50 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 2.32% or 44.40 points to 1,959.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 1.80% or 0.71 points to trade at 38.66 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 1.04% or 0.45 points to end at 42.94 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.45% or 0.05 points to 11.39.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Coface (EPA:COFA) which rose 10.14% to 13.36, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 7.52% to settle at 21.16 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 4.86% to close at 19.31.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 6.43% to 6.33 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which lost 2.11% to settle at 20.89 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 2.06% to 2.19 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 311 to 200 and 109 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1,944.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.85% or 0.61 to hit $72.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.40 to trade at $76.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.19.
