
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.26%, while the SBF 120 index unchanged 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.48% or 1.40 points to trade at 32.80 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 3.49% or 1.95 points to end at 57.89 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 3.30% or 5.35 points to 167.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 1.44% or 2.35 points to trade at 160.90 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 0.56% or 0.21 points to end at 36.52 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 0.40% or 0.06 points to 14.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 13.02% to 5.92, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was up 6.38% to settle at 0.67 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which gained 5.10% to close at 79.35.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 3.11% to 7.64 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 2.61% to settle at 1.46 and Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 2.00% to 36.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 350 to 181 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.44% or 2.35 to 160.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.50% or 30.90 to $2,024.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.17% or 2.86 to hit $71.42 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.94% or 2.86 to trade at $75.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 100.97.
